Nannies Duties

Main Duties:

Organise play activities and outings
Intellectual stimulation and language activities
Providing behavioural guidelines
Transportation where required

Cleaning Duties:

Doing the children's laundry and ironing
Changing and making the children's beds
Children's meal planning and preparation
Tidying up the play area and children's bedrooms.

Further information:

We recommend writing a duty list for the nanny and adding that to the Employment contract.
Nannies do not do general household cleaning.


Mothers help Duties


Main Duties:

Split between housework and looking after children Mainly after school childcare.

Further information:

In a big household Mothers help would do most of their cleaning duties while the children are at school.

Mothers help does not provide educational stimulation as a Nanny does, child care is mostly just playing with children, supervising the children and making the children’s meals.


Au Pair Duties


Main Duties:

Organise play activities and outings
Being a helping hand as a babysitter
Helping with chores such as emptying the dishwasher and putting things in order.

Further information:

An Au Pair will be like a helping hand in Childcare, more like an older sister. Heavy cleaning duties like window cleaning are not part of an Au Pair’s job.
